Museum Welcomes Vietnam POWs
The Maine Military Museum and Learning Center welcomes the NAM-POWs to Maine for their 2019 reunion. Bill Nemitz of The Portland Press Herald has written an article about the first meeting of former POW Orson Swindle, who is here for the reunion, and spotter pilot Dick Manning.
New Japanese Room

The Maine Military Museum has added a separate room for Japanese and Japan related exhibits from World War II.
The room is in the new section of the museum and items are currently being moved to and added to the exhibits.
Reading Room Completed
The Richard A. Davis reading room in the new section of the museum has been completed.
2018 Museum Expansion
The Maine Military Museum is expanding into the half of the building formerly occupied by the local VFW post.
In addition to adding exhibition space, expansion plans include a snack bar, a library, and a museum store.

World War I in 3D
We have digitized some stereo images from World War I and made them available as both regular images and simulated 3D images. Each of the images is accompanied by a full description of the scene or event.
Becoming a POW in Vietnam
In an excerpt of his video “God, Country and Family” Captain Richard “Moon” Mullen describes his capture and the torture to which he was subjected.
New Website Layout
We have completed our new website layout and are now adding more content. We have started adding more uniforms and helmets, but the biggest changes are coming to our POW content. Comments about our website are always welcome.
